Welcome!

We are so pleased to be performing at the Harris Concert Hall at the University of Memphis this week! We’re also really looking forward to working with all the students at the university, made possible by The Artist & Scholar Residency Program at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music. Many thanks to Dr. William Shaltis for putting this together! If you enjoy today’s show, please consider joining us on Saturday, January 29th in the Crosstown Arts East Atrium for a full -length version of Fruit Flies Like a Banana. If you’d like to become an ongoing supporter of our work, you can do so through our Patreon or donating via PayPal. We’re also big fans of crisp high fives.

Program - Tuesday, January 25th at 7:30 pm

The Toy Soldier’s Tale by Brett Keüper Abigaña (b. 1980)

In this different take on The Steadfast Tin Soldier, René, the toy soldier comes to life in the magical toy shop. He spies the ballerina, Collette, spinning on her glass box - she is not alive, powered by springs and gears rather than magic. René falls in love with her. Jacques, the jack-in-the-box, also comes to life and attempts to seduce Collette. René and Jacques battle over Collette...

Subadobe by Fredrik Högberg (b. 1971)

Masks by Oliver Knussen (1952-2018)

Rebonds b by Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001)
